Pastor
DISTRICT ELDER DENNIS VON MITCHELL, SR.
Elder Dennis Von Mitchell, Sr. has been a member of the Greater Christ Temple Holiness Church his entire life. As a member of Greater Christ Temple, he served on the Usher Board, as 2nd Vice Chairman of the Deacon Board, Brotherhood, Auxiliary President, and twice as the treasurer of the Georgia State Council Men’s Ministry. His father, the late Suffragan Bishop Willie B. Mitchell, was his pastor. Under his father’s pastorate, he was appointed assistant pastor and later succeeded him as the pastor of the Greater Christ Temple Holiness Church in November of 2009. In June of this year, the Honorable Bishop Nealon Guthrie elevated Pastor Dennis Mitchell to the position of District Elder.
District Elder Mitchell has a heart for the people and is concerned with the welfare of the congregation and his community. Pastor Mitchell is a compassionate, humble, faithful and a reachable person who has truly kept his promise to God, his father, and his church family. He continues to share the vision that God had birth in his father as written in Acts 26:22 which states, “having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come.” Pastor Mitchell continues to fulfill the vision of witnessing to the lost, proclaiming the message of deliverance for being healed, set free, and delivered; to be a spiritual example to encourage God’s people to believe that there is hope in God; and to keep the spirit of unity as a church family.
